YES, PLEASE.

I hate it when people take it upon themselves to edit other artists’ work and the artists have every right to be angry about this.

Then of course there’s another kind of people who delete the original artists’ sources when they reblog a post or don’t bother with any sources at all when they’re posting themselves. It’s just as rude and equally disrespectful.

Posting the original images doesn’t make you any less of an art appreciator. On the contrary; when you edit somebody’s work and post it as your own, you really lose the respect of many people. Because even if you’re linking to the original source, that doesn’t make the artists happy a bit… it’s not their work anymore. They were happy and content with the way the original image was posted and if you’re going to use something, please use that.

I know this was brought up thousands of times before but for the people who still don’t realize just why would this be a problem: Because of these problems many artists on Pixiv want the website to be closed to foreigners.

Imagine that: Pixiv. Closed to foreigners. People who use the website frequently for their own works, for their fandoms and/or art-related reasons would understand the horror.

The artist in the link above explained it in their own words as well. Please spare a few more moments and read their own views on the subject.
