“One Piece” is the First to Sell 100 Million Since 2008

The 66th volume of the One Piece manga, “The Road Towards the Sun,” which sold 2,275,453 copies, became the top-selling comic of the week and the fifth consecutive One Piece volume to sell over 2 million in its first week. 4 million copies of the 66th volume were printed in total, making it the third consecutive One Piecevolume to receive a first printing of that scale.

Oricon announced that One Piece has sold over 100 million copies of manga in four years. It became the first series in any book category to sell more than 100 million copies since Oricon began reporting sales statistics in 2008.

One Piece has proven to be the most successful manga series in the world and one of the most famous series in Japan, breaking numerous sales records among all book categories.

Surely it’s not THE END right?!?

I seriously hope that’s something like the ending of this arc or something… Although I don’t remember seeing an “END” sign at the endings of previous arcs, but that’s all I can hope for now. 

I mean, I know the plot has been going weird for a long time now, but for the sake of the years I’ve been following it, I never gave up on the story and seriously, within this last arc it had some epic moments. However, if this is really “the end”, not only this is a terrible place to conclude the entire story, but also an awful way to finish such a cool series…

I don’t know if there’s a misunderstanding, a spin-off or new title on the way, but if this is the truth, then calling wrapping up everything like this “disappointing” is not even enough to describe what I’m feeling right now.

I mean, at the very least, WHERE THE FUCK IS CLARE? You know, the main character who disappeared some months ago? Ok, the main character role might’ve shifted to Miria on this arc, but still, Clare’s situation was a huge cliffhanger there. Let’s not forget that the problem with Clare is not only a cliffhanger in her last fight, but there’s a whole reunion with a certain Raki we’ve been waiting since what feels like forever; her powers still aren’t explored throughly in the story; and the whole PRISCILLA THING. Seriously, let’s not even go into the Priscilla topic…

From what I can gather, nobody is able to answer that “END” sign, and people are already raging around. I guess we’ll have to wait for some kind of an explanation or new chapter…

(Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be curling into a ball and remembering the day this was announced to become an anime series and how happy I was, because it was one of my favorite titles back then *sobbing*)
