apparently my school made the senior dinner great gatsby themed
because what better theme for a graduation party than the inaccessibility of the american dream
This was a perfect finale.
I don’t even watch this series, but this is adorable because that’s the exact relationship John and Sherlock have, except that theirs is a little bit more hidden, a little bit more shady. But again, both Sherlocks are shady people, enlightened by their Watsons in a different, yet equal way - they were the only people who could make the Sherlocks feel a little bit less… horrible people, weird people, different people, and that’s what’s wonderful in their relationship: in the Sherlocks’s world, their Watsons are the only colorful people.
Oh, you should watch it; it’s lovely! I started out of curiosity (and my love for Lucy Liu) but got hooked pretty quickly. Also relationship-wise, they never break the original Sherlock/Watson balance - which was the concern among some fans before the series. They’re just adorable, awesome, witty, exciting and a ton of fun to follow.
Bellieve me hon, I tried. LOL
I think it’s very creative to put a beautiful woman as Watson, the relationship between them can be truly lovely and very much worked on, but my love for the BBC series is so big, watching it makes it feel kinda wrong… like, “something is not right on this and I think it’s somebody’s gender”. haha
Tho I do love their relationship and the Sherlock actor (I do, he’s handsome as hell), I’m not in love with it, and there are several reasons to it (not being brittish feels weird, an asian female Watson feels awkward, an American Sherlock feels out of place, count them all…). I do respect the series and like it in a way, but the reasons for me to not be in love with it are just way too many.
Sorry. >.<
Haha, I admit, I was skeptical at fist as well, I also love (LOVE) the BBC version; but Elementary somehow managed to find its own path 8D I think the producers and actors might be aware of this problem, because they seemed to handle the characters and the plot in their own style.
As someone who had similar doubts before; Sherlock in Elementary is still British. The series takes place in New York, but Sherlock moves there for reasons. And Watson has her own reasons to be where she is at life, as well. That’s why I think they handled it in their own way to not exactly resemble each other, but still stayed true to the characters in their own way pretty nicely.
I know how frustrating waiting for BBC Season 3 is; so don’t think of them as the same. Just if you’re ever bored during the summer from the lack of new series and want to try something different, give it a go <3
